Position:  Maintenance Assistant

Location: Bath Racecourse

Contract type: Fixed Term (March – September)

Hours of work: 20 hours per week - Days are flexible

 

Bath Racecourse has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Assistant to join the team at Bath Racecourse.

 

Reporting to the Executive Director the Maintenance Assistant will take responsibility for the general maintenance of the property and upkeep of its facilities. You will ensure that jobs are completed efficiently to ensure that the guest expectations are met during their visit. You will complete the daily job list and preventative maintenance schedules with an eye for detail and a passion for fixing things! You will also liaise with contractors and take responsibility for health and safety. The Maintenance Assistant will also become involved in larger projects and provide support to the Racecourse Operations and Maintenance team in carrying out general basic maintenance on the buildings.

 

Flexibility towards hours of work is a prerequisite for this position.  The Maintenance Assistant is part of a team covering the 24/7 operation of our business and 40 hours per week will be scheduled to reflect this, in addition you will be expected to contribute time to the call-out and lock up rotas.  Lieu days will be taken for additional time worked. 

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

Experience of working in a maintenance department or handyman style role

Previous all round maintenance experience

Experience in dealing with external suppliers/contractors.

Clear understanding of Health and Safety

Any trade experience is a distinct advantage

Any trade qualifications is a distinct advantage

Demonstrable leadership skills

Excellent Time Management skills

Exceptional communication

Excellent customer service and very customer focused

Computer literate

Friendly and Approachable nature

Able to work individually and as part of a Team
